When admitted to the Inpatient Department and the Day Hospital, take basic personal hygiene items (new soft toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shaving supplies, pyjamas, slippers – preferably washable, cotton underwear, cotton socks) with you. It is also possible to bring books and magazines, radio, mobile phone, handicrafts (knitting, embroidery). For food and drink, it is possible to take small amounts of fruit, instant 100% coffee (in the ICU only coarse Nescafé), portioned milk for coffee, portioned teas, soft drinks (in the ICU only in 0.33 l cans). Our nurses continuously check the fridges in the rooms and dispose of long stored or perishable food.
When admitted to the Transplant Unit, take basic personal hygiene items (a new soft toothbrush, toothpaste, non-irritating soap, shaving supplies and washable slippers) with you). Other items (pyjamas, towels, washcloths) will be provided daily, clean and sterile to ensure that they are germ-free. You may bring sufficient cotton socks or cotton pyjamas with you by arrangement with the nursing staff, but these will need to be sterilized and we are not responsible for any damage. It is also possible to bring books and magazines, radio, mobile phone, computer and video tapes (we will wash them with disinfectant solution). For food and drink, it is possible to bring small amounts of fruit that can be peeled (oranges, tangerines, bananas), 100% instant coffee – only Nescafé coarse beans, portioned coffee milk, portioned teas, soft drinks in cans (0.33 l each), cookies without filling, purchased compotes in small packages, single-packaged candies and chewing gum.
